COUNSELING AND HUMAN SERVICES: SENIOR
LECTURER/ LECTURER (2 contract positions)
Duties:The successful candidate is expected to: (i)
teach counselor education courses at undergraduate and graduate level and
supervise research, practicum and internship; (ii) participate in all academic
and professional activities of the department including research and curriculum
review; (iii) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of
Department.
REQUIREMENTS
SENIOR LECTURER: Applicants should hold: (i) a
Master’s degree, preferably PhD in Counseling and Human
Services/Counseling/Guidance and Counseling/Counselor
Education. (ii) a minimum of three (3) years of tertiary teaching or
professional counseling experience; (iii) at least six (6) pieces of
research products (e.g. books, book chapters, journal articles) and/or creative
work with at least four of these being refereed journal articles reflecting a
spread of national regional and international journals and/or publishing
outlets. The applicant must be the lead or single author in at least
two (2) refereed journal publications or book chapters; and (iv) evidence of
service in the three (3) areas: Institution, Profession and
Community. Academic leadership will be an added advantage.
LECTURER: Applicants
should hold a (i) Master’s Degree, preferably PhD in Counseling and Human
services/Counseling/Guidance and Counseling/Counselor Education; (ii) Bachelor
degree with at least a 2(i)/GPA of 3.6; (iii) Show evidence of engagement in
research and evidence of service in the three areas: Institution, Profession
and Community. (iii) Relevant teaching experience at a University or Tertiary
Institution will be an added advantage.
